Critiques
I really love the amount of negative space because it allows for immediate focus on the arrow and the man. Also, the muted tones really polish the process of decision-making in terms of how gray one feels when faced with a difficult decision. Overall the clarity and the details are great and really help with the concept of the piece. Keep up the awesome work Martin.
Asymmetry. Between the two sides of the piece: the darkness and the light, the choice between two opposites, the two extremes of the spectrum. And, in the middle, the duality that that choice implies.
Asymmetry. Between the person and his super-ego, between his identity and a social contradiction to it, between an unorganized part of the personality and something that strives to act against it.
Asymmetry. Eventually between the person and his alter-ego, between the original identity and a second self, a second personality. A double personality.
Asymmetry of choices. Asymmetry of life and of the universe.
The beauty of asymmetry and all the diversity that derives from it.
This is an invitation to reflection. That's the power of your pieces, Martin.
